Manager, Data Analytics – Internal Audit will be responsible to execute a data analytic program for Internal Audit in the US Region.  This includes data analytic projects and continuous monitoring procedures executed with consistency to support the US Internal Audit team as they execute the audit plan.  This role also provides technical leadership across all data analytics services, including ad-hoc, recurring, and continuous analytics. 
 
Responsibilities: 

Assist in implementation of data analytic program for US Internal Audit to foster and grow data analytic usage through its maturity stages, in coordination with the overall CIBC Internal Audit Department data analytic program Promote use of advanced analytics and automation methods and techniques across all US audit portfolios through delivery of proof-of-concept engagements, demonstrations, and education and information sessions Recommend types of analytics and procedures to apply to meet audit objectives Partner with clients both within Internal Audit and across CIBC to understand their analytics needs and requirements, develop knowledge of related key processes that are under consideration, and manage associated client relations Identify, inventory, and manage data that is relevant to support audit objectives, while following Data Governance guidelines and best practices Perform data analyses to answer audit team hypothesis, business challenges, especially value creation risks and opportunities, and strategic questions Analyze complex data, identify anomalies, and provide useable insight to internal and external customers Support Staff and Senior Data Analytics Consultants to complete work timely and follow-up/escalate delays Prioritize incoming analytics and automation requests, including assignments Work with US and Global Data Analytics and Data Management teams Manage project timelines, resource requirements, and challenges/constraints Provide training and guidance to internal audit staff focused on data analysis methodology and tools in accordance with the overall data analytics strategy Support internal audit annual risk assessment and planning activities Communicate data analytic conclusions to internal audit and business Establish relationships within all three lines of defense, including support functions Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge and ability to assimilate new knowledge Possess good business acumen, staying current with data analytic techniques/technology Create a positive work environment and being an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision, values, and purpose 

Qualifications: 
 
Manager, Data Analytics will possess a combination of business knowledge, technical skills, people skills, and the ability to guide a data strategy. 
 

Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office, particularly Excel 6+ years of relevant experience using business intelligence tools and databases, applying advanced analytics and data reporting techniques Comprehensive knowledge of data analysis and database management tools, in particular SAP BusinessObjects, SQL, Cognos, Power BI, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, Databricks, and/or knowledge of CIBC data sources, applications, and system platforms Ability and comfort level to independently research emerging risks, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies Demonstrated problem solver and strategic thinker, such as identifying tests that can be applied across several audits/areas Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Demonstrated leadership and management skills Strong organization skills to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously 

 
Preferred Job Qualifications: 

Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Business Intelligence, CPA, CA, CIA, CFE, CISA) Data analytics tools certifications (e.g., Power BI, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, Databricks) Consultative approach; prior experience with recognized consulting firm Project management, internal audit and/or business process experience

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 for the New York, New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
