Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Health Director, the Data Analytics Coordinator designs and implements a sophisticated analytical strategy to further the understanding of complex health issues, promote data-driven policies, and catalyze systems change. This position provides leadership and strategic direction to the Public Health Data Analysts at the department.

This role is located in Lees Summit, MO and is a Hybrid position

Minimum Requirements

Master’s Degree in public health, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or other relevant discipline.  

Knowledge and demonstrated experience with statistics, probability, machine learning, and modeling.

Proficient experiencing using SAS, Python, or R.

Demonstrated ability to manage large disparate data sets and using quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Experience effectively communicating and presenting data to a variety of audiences.

Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.

Knowledge of current research and best practices pertaining to the field of data analytics.

Knowledge of program management, including budget, grant, and contract administration.

Interpersonal communications, group processes, and facilitation skills.

Demonstrates ability to recommend and implement goals, objectives, and practices for providing effective and efficient public health services.

Demonstrates ability to research, compile, and summarize a variety of informational and statistical data and materials.

Skilled in methods and techniques of research, statistical analysis, and report presentation.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrates ability to present to large audiences.

Demonstrates computer use ability in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

Demonstrates ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with a minimal amount of direction.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of supervisory experience leading teams is preferred.

Knowledge and experiencing working with data presentation software or applications (ArcGIS, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

Knowledge and experience working in technosocial predictive analytics.

Knowledge of principles of systems thinking and network analysis
