Position Title: Data Analytics Intern

Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and inquisitive Data Analytics Intern to join our Internal Audit team. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of data analysis, from data collection and cleaning to exploratory data analysis and visualization. You will work closely with experienced data analysts and internal auditors on real-world projects, contributing to meaningful insights.

 

Responsibilities

Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering and organizing data from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, etc) Clean and prepare data for analysis, including handling missing values, identifying and addressing outliers, and transforming data into appropriate formats. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conduct in-depth analysis of datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Generate insightful visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, dashboards) to communicate data findings effectively. Data Analysis and Modeling: Assist in building and evaluating simple predictive models (e.g., regression, classification). Conduct A/B testing and other forms of data-driven experimentation. Project Support: Support data led audits, fraud investigations, and risk assessments by performing research, data gathering, and analysis tasks. Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows. Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate findings and insights to team members and stakeholders.  Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data & Digital).

Education/Certifications  

Currently enrolled as a full-time student in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Skills and Experience

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis methodologies. Proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn). Familiarity with SQL and databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus. Other Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.   Detail-oriented and highly organized. A strong interest in data science and a passion for learning.

 

 Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 2 to August 8, 2025 Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship

 

Reports to: Internal Audit Manager – Data Analytics  

Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.
