This position focuses on data architecture with a perspective of data integration through Extract/Transform/Load. The incumbent will be working with business owners of data, business analysts, and data custodians, and should be able to architect and design data flows, data interfaces, and data usage patterns. The incumbent will be expected to take design work further to define detailed approach and data Extract/Transform/Load artifacts, as well as deploy the detailed design through enterprise standard tools.
Essential Job Functions:
Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming, while reviewing objectives with clients and evaluating current systemsDevelop database solutions by designing proposed systemDefine database physical structure and functional capabilities to accommodate data integration requirements, security, back-up, and recovery specificationsEnsure optimum performance techniques for data integration, coordinate deployment actions, and document actionsMaintain overall performance of components involved in Data Integration through ETL by identifying and resolving production and application development problemsCalculate optimum values for parametersEvaluate, integrate, and install new releasesComplete maintenanceAnswer user questionsProvide support to data integration and ETL components by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problemsUpdate job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizationsAccomplish information systems and organization mission by completing related results, as neededEducational Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer ScienceRole Specific Experience: 5+ years of experience with developing meta dat, data lineages and interfaces using Industry standard toolsExperience in enterprise integration and implementation of COTS financial applications, business process modeling, user interface designing, and drafting of detailed architecture documentationExtensive experience with one or more leading RDBMS e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, etc.Extensive experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase databasesExtensive Experience with data integration (Real-time and ETL)Extensive architecture experience with financial equity applicationsExtensive experience with designing and/or implementing an equity COTS package called InvestranCertification Requirements:
FEAF, CMMI, COBIT, ITIL, SCRUM, CDMP, Six Sigma, etc. certifications (preferred)Required Skills/Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Data Integration concepts and standard approachedStrong leadership and communication skillsDesired Skills/Abilities (not required but a plus):
