Position Summary

Crash Champions is seeking an experienced Data Manager to lead and manage our data warehouse team. The Data Manager will play a strategic role in designing and updating data architecture solutions on the Microsoft Fabric platform, including collaboration and teamwork. This position requires extensive experience with the Microsoft Fabric stack of technologies.

The ideal candidate will provide hands-on guidance, mentoring, and validation for the data team, making sure solutions meet business needs and support the Data team. This role emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders, business users, data and BI developers, and IT leadership to understand and meet their data requirements. Proven team leadership experience, deep technical expertise in data design, and excellent teamwork abilities are essential in fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.Additionally, the candidate will manage cross-functional teams to drive cohesive and efficient data strategies across the organization.

Responsibilities

Manage the data warehouse team, providing hands-on guidance to developers and DBA.

Mentor and develop team members to foster a collaborative and growth environment.

Effectively communicate insights and technical solutions to developers.

Work with stakeholders, business users, developers, and IT leadership to meet data needs and support business strategies with clear communication.

Supervise the design, development, and upkeep of data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines. Oversee data integration processes and quality standards.

Manage operational support and on-call schedule and include off-business hours maintenance for seamless data workflows and address any production issues.

Manage data migration to cloud platforms, ensuring data integrity and security throughout the process.

Lead efforts to enhance data governance and quality.

Create and revise data architecture to meet evolving business requirements and technological progress, and develop data solutions, master data management, and ETL/ELT processes in accordance with business objectives.

Optimize data systems for scalability, performance, reliability, and security, ensuring consistent quality.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in data management and team leadership, with strong management skills to coordinate and oversee projects and teams effectively.

Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Fabric technology stack and Microsoft SQL Server, as well as Azure Synapse Data Engineering, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Data Science, Synapse Data Warehouse, Synapse Real-Time Analytics, Onelake, and Power BI.

Focus on data migration, movement, and transformation, implementing ETL design patterns for data warehousing using Kimball methodology and master data management.

Expertise in T-SQL scripting, query optimization, and data governance, with attention to detail, data validation, and documentation.

Full lifecycle development (SDLC) skills using Azure DevOps and source code management tools like Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear, concise information in writing, via phone, or in-person.

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of daily experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and development

Ability to create positive interactions with customers, multi-task, and quickly and effectively determine solutions to customer problems.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
