Our client requires a data architect to lead key information and data initiatives toward modernizing the technology landscape, reducing enterprise risks, and building a strong foundation for future transformation. The resource will assess and identify risks associated with IT-managed operational data. This includes working with the Cybersecurity team and other architects to provide architectural guidance to address the root causes of security incidents involving operational data and propose measures to prevent incidents and breaches.
Work can be provided remotely with a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) and up to fifty percent (50%) of the time required onsite at the clients facility in Winnipeg.

ResponsibilitiesDuties Include:
Developing a data classification framework, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and security requirements Designing and implementing encryption protocols for securing sensitive operational data Aligning data architecture initiatives with governance standards and compliance requirements Safeguarding operational data throughout its lifecycle by planning secure storage, encrypted transmission, and controlled processing solutions Recommending and implementing best practices for data encryption and classification based on industry trends, enhancing security and compliance Supporting data governance initiatives and aligning all data architecture initiatives with the strategic data roadmap. Identifying capacity constraints affecting data security and governance initiatives and architect solutions Producing essential domain artefacts and providing mentorship and guidance to IT staff on architectural best practices for data security, classification, and governance Mandatory Requirements Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in data architecture disciplines; Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building and working with workers compensation insurance data models; Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data architectures; Deep understanding of workers compensation insurance business processes, including claims processing, policy management, and billing systems; Knowledge of various conversion mechanisms and data modelling tools; Knowledge of workers compensation insurance software packages; and Proficiency with on premises and cloud-based data storage services and capabilities.Job Posting ID: 56081
