Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Architect/Data Modeler to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of large databases on the Azure platform. As a Data Architect/Data Modeler, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing data models, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data modeling, database design, and hands-on experience with Azure services. How you'll make an impact Design and develop data models for large-scale databases on the Azure platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity. Collaborate with stakeholders, including data architects, developers, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models. Optimize database structures and schemas to improve query performance and data retrieval efficiency. Implement best practices for data modeling, including normalization, denormalization, indexing, and partitioning strategies. Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and propose solutions for data cleansing and enrichment. Work closely with the development team to ensure seamless integration of data models into application systems. Perform data modeling reviews and provide guidance to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data modeling techniques, tools, and technologies. Collaborate with database administrators to monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies. Document data models, data dictionaries, and related artifacts to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain data lineage. Monitor system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features. Guide and coach staff members on standards, guidelines, best practices, and adherence to set standards. About You Job Qualifications: In-depth understanding of multi-dimensional and canonical design. 5+ years of data modeling experience utilizing the Power Designer tool. 7+ years of experience in architecting and building medium to large scale enterprise data warehouses and data marts. Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Warehouse, and Snowflake. Proven experience implementing data warehouse architecture standards, processes, and methodologies. Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, techniques, and best practices. Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (DBMS) such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Cosmos DB. Hands-on experience with Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Databricks. Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes, including data ingestion, transformation, and loading. Experience with data profiling and data quality assessment tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and translate them into effective data models. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Azure certifications in data-related domains (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Azure Database Administrator) are a plus. Able to hit the ground running with a can-do attitude.
