Data Automation Engineer Intern - IT Services

P&C IT Services provides professional services to help our business units and corporate functions use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes.  IT Services can include a wide range of activities such as: software development, data management, Cloud services, IT security, network security, technical support, establishing and overseeing access rights, procuring and maintaining equipment or software, managing the infrastructure, and defining security procedures,  The overall goal of IT Services is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.

The Data team withing P&C IT Services is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team as a Data Automation Engineer for the summer 2025.  The intern will be able to choose from a variety of disciplines in the data space while working on an AI product team, including data ingestion, data transformation, Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), Machine Learning Engineering (MLE), and Infrastructure-as-code (IaC).  The intern will assist in the development and maintenance of automated AI tooling and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML systems into production. This position offers a hands-on learning experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, with the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar – at the sophomore or junior level
• Experience developing in object-oriented programming (any language)
• Experience developing in functional programming or Scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar
• Familiarity with SQL
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Curious, inquisitive, and perpetual learner
• Comfortable asking questions and getting clarification
• Can manage individual tasks
• Open to working in groups
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship
