We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Architect to lead our global Backup and Disaster Recovery services across both Data Center Infrastructure and Public Cloud environments.This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation, integration, and innovation of backup and disaster recovery solutions within our Public Cloud and On-Premises Siemens services. You will work closely with IT providers, global teams and stakeholders, driving service improvements and aligning with strategic business goals.

• Architect and oversee Backup and Disaster Recovery services across both Data Center Infrastructure and Public Cloud environments, ensuring alignment with corporate IT requirements and business unit needs.• Design and implement backup strategies for both on-premises and cloud environments, collaborating with providers, central IT, and business units to ensure robust and secure solutions.• Monitor service levels, manage SLAs, and ensure that backup and recovery services meet defined performance standards across hybrid environments.• Lead the integration and interoperability of backup services across multiple IT systems, including on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).• Innovate and apply industry best practices in backup and disaster recovery strategies, focusing on both traditional data center and cloud-native approaches.• Ensure that all workloads have a valid backup in place, and that backup testing executed by IT providers is performed regularly and with successful results. Mitigate any resulting issues from the regular testing.• Conduct stakeholder analysis, prepare communication and training concepts to establish proper knowledge management and enablement with the SFS Data Community• You establish Test Frameworks and act as a Test Manager within complex Project environments
Key Activities:• Review and optimize disaster recovery solutions for both on-premises data centers and public cloud environments, including solutions like Azure Site Recovery and AWS Disaster Recovery.• Evaluate and contribute to new backup and disaster recovery solutions across hybrid environments, driving innovation in cloud-based and on-premises strategies.• Resolve discrepancies between CMDB and service billing for both on-premises and cloud-based services.• Lead ransomware penetration tests in both traditional data center and cloud backup environments.• Support global server owners and cloud architects with backup and disaster recovery issues in both traditional and cloud-based environments.• Collaborate with cloud architects and engineers to design and implement scalable, secure backup solutions for public cloud workloads.
General:• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Information Technology trends, with a particular emphasis on IT security and data protection.• Ensure alignment with global and regional IT projects, recognizing and managing dependencies to other initiatives.• Support the Service Owner and other stakeholders by providing insights, approvals, and assistance as needed for project success.• Analyze business requirements and processes to aid in the design and development of infrastructure services that meet both current and future needs.• Participate in architectural quality reviews and ensure that best practices are consistently shared across teams.• Facilitate clear communication with Service Owners and other stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress, issues, and potential blockers.• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the interoperability and availability of services, minimizing risks of business disruption due to poor performance or unavailability.• Positively influence and develop relationships with key stakeholders across different locations and functions to support strategic initiatives.• Identify and track issues in cooperation with other project work streams, prioritizing resolution in alignment with location planning and support processes.• Provide timely and accurate status reports, rollout plans, and other necessary documentation to management and stakeholders.• Perform risk management to minimize project risks, escalating issues as appropriate.

We are looking for someone with…• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant experience.• At least 10 years of experience in IT-related roles, with a minimum of 8 years as a Service Architect, Project Manager, or Service Manager, specifically focusing on Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.• Strong understanding of both Data Center Infrastructure and Public Cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) with a focus on Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.• Experience in architecting and managing cloud-native backup solutions and hybrid backup strategies that span on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms.• Proficiency in cloud-based disaster recovery tools (e.g. Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery).• Excellent communication, presentation, and customer management skills.• ITIL, PMP, and Agile certifications are a plus.• Certifications related to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.• Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
