We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Center Energy Marshal to oversee the energy isolation program on construction sites for all systems with stored energy including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, elevated loads, and compressed fluids. This role requires ensuring that all activities related to energy isolation are coordinated and executed by the General Contractor and Trades according to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the energy isolation program on construction sites for all systems with stored energy (MEP, elevated loads, compressed fluids).
+ Ensure safe working conditions by reviewing documentation such as procedures, job hazard analysis, and permits.
+ Audit the energy isolation program for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities.
+ Work with construction and commissioning teams to ensure safe working conditions for the testing and validation of MEP systems.
+ Support the management of electrical infrastructures across data center campuses.
+ Validate general contractor safe work practices and Lock Out Tag Out procedures for various voltage levels.
+ Trace electrical power through redundant systems to ensure a zero-energy state.
+ Hold General Contractor and Equipment Vendor Technicians accountable to established standards.
+ Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety teams to achieve Operational Excellence in the Control of Hazardous Energy.
+ Train new and existing employees in Energy Isolation processes and procedures.
+ Communicate and coordinate effectively with Project Management and Trades Persons.
+ Work in a commercial construction site environment with skilled professionals.
+ Understand and manage electrical and mechanical equipment energization, startup, and commissioning.
Essential Skills
+ College/university degree in Electrical Engineering, Master Electrician License, or related work experience.
+ 5+ years of experience with industrial or commercial field engineering in mission critical facilities and electrical infrastructures.
+ 3+ years of experience developing and supporting electrical safety programs aligned with NFPA70E, NEC, and OSHA requirements.
+ 3+ years of experience in the Control of Hazardous Energy in a complex mission critical infrastructure environment.
+ 10+ years of experience working in a commercial construction environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong experience with hazardous energy risk assessments and work procedure reviews.
+ Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application in the maintenance and operation of critical electrical equipment.
+ Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation.
+ Practical experience with Lock-out/Tag-out and verifying MEP systems in a zero-energy state.
+ Verification of onsite US Citizenship documentation preferred.
+ TS clearance preferred.
Work Environment
This role requires working in a commercial construction site environment with highly knowledgeable and qualified individuals. The candidate must be able to interpret blueprints, electrical one-lines, and construction drawings. The work involves managing and supporting electrical and mechanical equipment energization, startup, and commissioning activities. The position necessitates adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with various teams to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence are met.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $73.00/hr.
