Data Center Hardware Technician (overnights)

What does a successful Data Center Hardware Technician (overnights) do at Fiserv?

In this role you will provide world class onsite data center support for Fiserv’s systems engineers, architects and supporting vendors. You will be crucial in providing tactical implementation of IT solutions in accordance with Fiserv’s data center operations program standards. This role will also provide value by composing documentation and regular process updates based on Manager and Director feedback.

What you will do:

Physically rack and stack servers and network equipment according to layout diagrams and specificationsPerform cable installations, including routing, terminating, and managing structured cabling systemsInstall and maintain data servers and network equipmentSupport vendors and engineers with upgrades, including CPU’s, memory and network cablesPerform routine production and non-production administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT hardware as well as provide escalation level support to remote officesWork with data center specific trade toolsMaintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activitiesTrain on dayshift before moving to your regular shift which will be 8pm to 7am Sunday-Wednesday

What you will need to have:

5+ years of experience working in a 24x7-365 data centerHighschool diploma or equivalent

What would be great to have:

DCCA or other industry recognized data center certificationDemonstrated administrative capacity to translate current and new business requirements into operational processFamiliarity with ITIL V3 and change management principlesExperience with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Teams and SharePoint)Associate's degree in computer networking or a similar field

Important info about this role:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders while working at heights of 6 to 12 feet and stand on your feet for the majority of your shiftOccasional local travel of up to 10% may be required   Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support 24/7 data center operationsAll offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks.
