**Summary:** The Data Center Systems Engineer works at the confluence of Meta's compute, storage and networking hardware and our data center electrical, mechanical and network infrastructure. This position is in the Data Center Systems Engineering team and will collaborate with the Meta teams designing and operating our data centers and hardware. The Engineer will consider these elements as a large-scale system and will solve system-level issues as they arise. More importantly, they will prevent them from occurring by influencing the design of the constituent elements. **Required Skills:** Data Center Systems Engineer Responsibilities: 1. Participate in critical design reviews for data center and hardware systems. 2. Define product requirement document and system-level specifications that guide hardware systems design and data center design to operate efficiently and reliably. 3. Perform characterization on electrical components, including AC/DC power supplies, battery back-up units, high-power switchboards, UPS, transformers and reactors. 4. Establish an automation process for taking measurements and structuring results in a database for large-scale systems. 5. Perform detailed analysis on test results and maintain a dashboard for test summaries. 6. Provide engineering support for risk modeling, identify critical areas for improvement, and develop risk mitigation plans as needed. 7. Collaborate with Data Center Design, Site Operations and Facilities Operations teams, as well as Hardware Design and Release-to-Production teams, to understand issues affecting operational scalability of Meta data centers and hardware. 8. Work with these internal groups and external consultants to perform complex, system-level troubleshooting. 9. Use knowledge gained to highlight opportunities for significant engineering improvements and lead high-impact, measurable, cross-functional initiatives. 10. Travel may be necessary to support field measurement and validation. **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 11. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or applied physics 12. 7+ years of experience of AC electrical system, AC/DC power supply, compute server and/or networking product development or test experience 13. Experience in impedance measurement and characterization on electrical systems 14. Experience with test equipment including oscilloscope, power quality meter, and frequency analyzer 15. Knowledgeable in test automation using scripting language to control the measurement instruments 16. Experience with simulation tools for electromagnetic and system-level electrical circuit simulations 17. Experience working with 3-phase power AC systems 20. Experience with large-scale cloud environments in compute, storage or networking 21. Proficiency with Python, SQL, GPIB, CAN, UART 22.
