Data Center Technical Program Manager, Critical Projects Implementation
Amazon.com
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team is a project management and execution team that manages construction projects within operational data center spaces. The CPI team is tasked with critical infrastructure improvement projects in electrical, fire, mechanical, and structural systems within Amazon’s data center fleet around the globe.
We are seeking an energetic Senior Data Center Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support our data center retrofit project management team. You will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling the most fascinating challenges in designing, building, and operating Amazon data facilities. The Data Center TPM is responsible for driving process improvement efforts across the IAD (Northern Virginia) Region with reach across AMER. You will develop or enhance processes, systems, and mechanisms to streamline CPI’s project execution. You will use your technical acumen to identify and drive innovative solutions and deliver results for the customer. This role requires a quick thinker, your flexibility and adaptability are key to constantly changing demands and priorities. At Amazon, along with technical strength, we expect our Sr. TPMs to interact with internal and external customers, partners, and suppliers to understand our joint business goals and priorities, and to execute rapidly, delivering high-quality functionality.
If you are passionate about the Customer Experience; you think big; and you want to contribute to the operational excellence of Amazon data centers then this may be the challenge you’ve been looking for!
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator, both written and verbally, and possess 7+ years of experience in project/program management of technical initiatives, as well as driving strategic process improvements.
