Data Center Technician (Nightshift)
As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up and perform hardware deployments. In addition, you will also perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment, as well as perform hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes following Standard Operating Procedures. You’ll also comply with Global Data Center Operations and service-level policies and will complete assigned tickets efficiently and with minimal guidance. + You will prepare and perform hardware startups and shutdowns, providing guidance to other technicians and escalating issues as needed. You’ll also perform post-execution quality checks to verify everything is set up according to safety protocols and deployment standards. + You will perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting and will replace faulty components with minimal guidance. You’ll also follow procedures to communicate and report any incidents and will decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes. + You will contribute to issue tracking and client relations and maintain an awareness of key performance indicators. You’ll also develop an understanding of cross-functional support processes as well as complete all other required training. + You will comply with all safety, security, and data management procedures, and will contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information, responding to feedback, and adopting best practices. At all times, you’ll display accountability and ownership of data center facilities + Embody our culture and values **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications** **:** + High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology + OR equivalent experience **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **_Preferred Qualifications:_** + 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology. + Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC). Data Center Technicians ATR-C - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $26.39 - $46.83 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $37.21 - $51.73 per hour.
