This is not an in-office position. Greater than 90% of work is accomplished by riding in-service bus routes. Essential Job Functions:Conducts on-board ride checks of passengers boardingAlighting buses by location and time to provide Statisticians with data to compile into reports to enhance customer serviceConducts stationary checks of bus ridership and schedule adherence at maximum load points of routes, branch points and other special pointsEvaluates bus stop/shelter usage when neededDistributes survey questionnaires when neededPerforms weekly on-board riding checks to determine fare payment methods or other necessary planning information per the City of Phoenix to achieve matching funds as required by the FTAWorks varied hours, days, and shifts, which may change on a frequent basisOther related duties as assigned Education Required:High school diploma or equivalent requiredSkills & Knowledge Required:Experience in research Customer service experienceKnowledge of the Metropolitan Phoenix area Basic math skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills essential Pre-Employment Requirements:Must submit to drug testing and background checkPhysical Requirements:Must be able to work flexible work schedules as neededMust be able to sit for long periods of time on a consistent basis under extreme weather conditionsGreater than 90% of work is accomplished by riding in-service bus routes.  The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
