Data Coordinator - Georgetown University Medical Center

The Data Coordinator works within the Hemophilia/Benign Hematology group and Lombardi Cancer Center at GUMC, and works with the team members to complete research studies by providing technical and administrative support for research protocols. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Collect, store, enter, and report all study data from source documents, accurately inputting information into sponsored support electronic case report forms within specific deadlines.  

Assist Research Study Coordinator with administrative tasks such as: data entry, source document form creation, query answering, filing, study binder maintenance, appointment scheduling, sample/specimen inventory, and preparing study pre-visit collection kits.  

Serve as a back coordinator in absence of staff members for a designated study visit.

Monitor regularly scheduling upcoming patient visits for registry and observational studies, ensuring that all appropriate study-related patient questionnaires are completed in alignment with the timeline outlined in the study protocols.

Work Interactions

The incumbent interacts with:

Investigators (data clarification and collecting information)

Administrator and Research Study Coordinator to complete tasks as assigned

Sponsors and CROs (via email correspondence, regularly scheduled monitor calls, and remote and on-site monitoring visits)

Hospital staff and research personnel participating in study patient visits

Patients (via phone and in person for study visits and scheduling visits)

CROO to reconcile clinic/study billing issues and Oncore data

Study team to coordinate coverage for all study related requirements

Requirements and Qualifications

Must have a BA or BS preferably with a major in the sciences

Prior experience with clinical research projects is needed to understand the clinical research process

Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational, attention to detail and time management skills

Ability to work well both independently and in a team

Advanced skills with word processing, electronic medical records, spreadsheet software, and PowerPoint

A team player and exemplify good interpersonal skills and professionalism

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
