Data Engineer
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in Orlando, Florida. The primary role will be within the food and beverage supply chain technology industry. As a Data Engineer Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing data extracts, transformation, migration, and uploads using modern software development paradigms. Responsibilities: • Create data mappings, extracts, transformations, data migration, and uploads. • Configure supply chain technology for business use. • Conduct SQL and script programming, validation, testing, and debugging of applications after data loads. • Gather reporting requirements, design reports, and develop reports for business use. • Create stories in JIRA backlogs and participate in agile ceremonies. • Review and write code that meets set quality gates. • Create and update documentation for reproducible data loading and configuration. • Interact and coordinate work with other technical and testing groups in the organization. • Facilitate team members in finding root-cause of problems and issue resolution. • Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team. Requirements REQUIRED + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field or related work experience. + 5+ years of progressively related experience in data extracts, analysis, and reporting. Significant knowledge/experience in relevant technologies, such as: + Experience with food & beverage supply chain technology + Deep skills in SQL development using Oracle DB, MS SQL, Snowflake on Windows and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments + Report/dashboarding development experience using MicroStrategy Cloud Environment + Agile Tools (Jira) Soft Skills & Other Requirements: + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Detail-oriented, self-organized, delivers quality, and capable of tracking multiple pieces of work simultaneously. + Ability to handle virtual teams and work with resources in multiple sites (onsite, offshore, near shore). + Excellent time management skills.
