Data Engineer

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania (hybrid)

As a Data Engineer, you will be part of our Data Engineering and Integration Platforms team and will play a key part in leading specific areas of data work and building our data capabilities. You will work with JM business team and IT mission teams to develop and operate data services, leading specific projects and workstreams. You will also be required to collaborate with other business and engineering teams, particularly the integration team, data governance and reporting teams. 

Your responsibilities:

Collaborating with business leaders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable data platform requirements.

Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across business units, data science, analytics, and engineering.

Supporting a secure, scalable, and high-performing data platform. Alongside the team, monitoring key metrics and proactively identifying areas for optimization in performance, security, and data integrity.

Implementing strategies to minimize technical debt within the platform. Supporting quality and seamless data exchange through code reviews, standardization, and adoption of best practices in data design and development.

Working with the data governance team and Data Owners to ensure the platform aligns to data governance principles and promotes data quality and consistency across the organisation.

Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the data platform team.

Requirements for the role:

1+ years’ of experience working as a data engineer.

Experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure (preferable), AWS, or GCP.

Experience in designing, building, and implementing data solutions.

Experience with working on data across multiple components and layers, within a common platform, including landing zones, common domains, and application data products.

Experienced in creating, maintaining, and driving adoption of data best practices, guardrails, and standards.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

What would make you stand out:

Good skills in defining and managing analytics (inc. error reporting, dashboards, and automated threshold-based alerts) for internal/ external consumption and for developers maintaining the data platform.

Strong people influencing skills and stakeholder management skills.

Knowledge of ARM templates, role-based access control (RBAC), Azure Purview, and data encryption at rest and in transit.

How you will be rewarded:

Salary range for this position is from 44,500 to 61,000 EUR per year depending on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. This role is also eligible to receive discretionary annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance.
