Description We are in search of a Data Engineer to become a part of our team. The selected candidate will be primarily involved in crafting, establishing, and managing robust data systems and structures. These tasks are crucial for effective data gathering, conversion, storage, and examination. The role will be based in Newark, New Jersey, and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with team members, including data analysts and data scientists, to comprehend data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions. • Design, construct, and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to handle both structured and unstructured data. • Incorporate data from various sources into data storage systems, such as warehouses or lakes. • Develop and manage data models to support the needs of analytics and reporting. • Ensure the data's integrity, consistency, and accuracy through quality checks and validation procedures. • Work with stakeholders to establish and enforce data governance policies. • Monitor and enhance the performance of data systems and pipelines. • Resolve issues related to data processing and storage. • Provide technical support and documentation for data systems and processes. • Implement data architecture best practices to ensure high availability and performance. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. • Proficient in Apache Kafka, Apache Pig, and Apache Spark. • Demonstrated experience in Data Visualization and Algorithm Implementation. • Proficient in using analytics tools for data-driven decision making. • Extensive knowledge and experience in Apache Hadoop. • Proven track record in API Development. • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field is preferred.
