A leading modern art museum is seeking a Data Engineer to sit hybrid onsite in their midtown Manhattan location. This candidate will be reporting into the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications and joining a team of 8 spread throughout the US, India and Belgium. The team oversees all customer-facing and back-end technology applications that support the Museum, including the Museum's collection management system, transactional systems that support the operations in the Lobby, the retail business, Membership and Development, etc. These are all in support of a multiyear strategic vision for the Museum's applications architecture, with a forward-thinking approach to the use of technology in the Museum. This individual must have strong communication and problem solving skills and have a team player mindset. This position will sit hybrid (3-4 days a week) onsite in Midtown Manhattan, and operate on a 35 hour work week. This Individuals day to day will include:
Design, develop, and maintain the data warehouse in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
Build and manage robust ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
Manage and maintain databases, including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and security.
Develop and maintain small software applications to support data management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely solutions to ensure data availability and accuracy.
Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices.
Perform any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.
