We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Governance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of data governance practices and processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
Data Governance and Cataloging: Plays a crucial role in implementing data governance and cataloging on GCP. Leverages tools like DataHub to establish data governance policies, manage metadata, and provide a centralized platform for data discovery, data lineage, and data access controls.
Data Quality: Plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and governance of data. This involves implementing data validation rules, conducting data quality checks, and collaborating with stakeholders to establish data governance policies and standards.
Data Visualization and Reporting: Has knowledge of data visualization and reporting techniques. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and design data visualizations using tools Tableau or Power BI. Develops reports and dashboards that provide insights and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
DevOps and CI/CD for Data Governance: Embraces DevOps practices and utilizes CI/CD technologies. Leverages tools like Jenkins, or Github Actions CI/CD to automate data engineering processes, including version control, testing, and deployment of data pipelines while ensuring compliance with data governance policies and standards.
API Development: Possesses experience in API development using Python or comparable languages. Design and develop APIs to enable seamless data integration, data access, and data exchange between different systems or applications. This includes building RESTful APIs, implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms, and ensuring data security and privacy in API interactions.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential for successful execution of projects and initiatives. 

Required Qualifications: 
•    1+ years of experience with SQL, NoSQL
•    1+ years of experience with Python (or a comparable scripting language)
•    1+ years of experience with ETL/ELT, and building high-volume data pipelines
•    1+ years of experience with Big data and cloud architecture (GCP preferred) 
•    1+ years of experience with Github Actions, Jenkins and other DevOps principles/best practices. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Experience with BigQuery strongly preferred. 
•    Experience with Tableau, PowerBI or similar 
•    Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
•    Experience with complex systems and solving challenging analytical problems
•    Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams
•    Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands
•    Knowledge of API development
•    Experience with GenAI prompt engineering

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,100.00 - $144,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
