Be a part of helping others to Live Well! **Job Description** **POSITION SUMMARY:** This role will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. + Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements. + Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes,optimizing data delivery and scalability. + Design and implement ETL routines using Azure Data Factory to deliver transformed data. + Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems. + Collect and understand business requirements to document, design and develop required data flows. + Create and maintain data model documentation + Define, implement, and document best practices for database design and ETL. + Identify opportunities for process improvement and environment optimization. + Provide technical/functional support for pipeline related activities. + Provide support of on-premises SQL server databases for security requests, backup and recovery, performance tuning and change implementation + Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, processes, and troubleshooting documents. + Assist with task and project level planning and accurately reports the status of all assignments. + Plan, upgrade, and deploy systems using established standards. + Design systems to meet requirements and functional specifications. + Manage service requests, incidents, and problems to ensure they are resolved properly. + Keep abreast of new technologies. + Additional duties as assigned. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Responsible for supervising multiple projects. **QUALIFICATIONS:** + Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required + 5+ years of relevant experience + Experience building and optimizing Azure data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. + Proven understanding of data warehousing, data architecture, and BI. + Knowledge of modern apps and data platforms. + Knowledge of cloud-based project implementation. + Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes. + Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. + Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets. + Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, including internal and external clients. + Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. + Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting General Nutrition Centers, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer **Benefit Offerings** Benefit Offerings: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Paid Company Life Insurance, 401K program with company match, 30% employee merchandise discount on GNC products & 20% employee discount on 3rd party products, Monthly Free Product Offers, and access to the Employee Assistance Program.
