Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in the sports industry, based in Brooklyn, New York. The role involves a strong focus on data management and analytics, utilizing advanced technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Pig, Apache Spark, and AWS Technologies. Responsibilities: • Develop and manage data processing systems using Apache Kafka and Apache Pig • Utilize Apache Spark to process complex data in a distributed computing environment • Work with cloud technologies to deploy and maintain data infrastructure • Implement algorithms to analyze sports-related data and generate insights • Use data visualization techniques to present data in a user-friendly manner • Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure their smooth operation • Develop APIs to facilitate data access and integration • Utilize Apache Hadoop for storing data and running applications on clusters • Implement AWS technologies to enhance data processing and storage capabilities • Use analytics to drive decision-making processes and strategies. Requirements • Proficiency in Apache Kafka, enabling efficient real-time data processing • Experience with Apache Pig, providing the ability to handle large data sets • Knowledgeable in Apache Spark, facilitating fast and efficient data processing • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies, allowing for efficient data storage and access • Proficiency in Data Visualization, to effectively present and communicate data insights • Experience in Algorithm Implementation, to solve complex data problems • Strong background in Analytics, to derive meaningful insights from data • Expertise in Apache Hadoop, for distributed processing of large data sets • Experience in API Development, to enable seamless data integration • Proficiency in AWS Technologies, for effective cloud-based data solutions.
