Job Summary: The IT Data Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance, of architectures for the SMSC and the Gaming Enterprise. Will apply principles and techniques of computer science and data engineering to build data management frameworks to help leaders with data-driven decision-making and with optimizing business outcomes.

Job Requirements:

Reflects MINIMUMEDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field required. A minimum of 4 years of experience in data management and/or data architecture or engineering. Experience with Microsoft SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Excel, and programming languages. Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis. Working experience in the gaming/casino industry and working knowledge of overall resort casino business management practices preferred.

Primary Job Duties:

Collaborates with BI, IT engineering, and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization. Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it. Also protects data, adhering to applicable legal/regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PHI, PII, DOI, MICS). Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures. Employ an array of technological languages and tools to connect systems (e.g. Kafka, APIs, Microservices). Seek continuous improvement in the performance of data integration solutions and ensure the security of data. Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality. Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes. Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy. Analyze data for trends and patterns, and interpret data with a clear objective in mind. Democratize data and information across the SMSC and Gaming Enterprise by ensuring data is available, usable, timely, reliable, accessible, and secure. Be an advocate for leveraging data as a strategic enterprise asset by enabling and evolving quantitative-based decision-making at all management and operational levels. Conducts full lifecycle activities including requirements analysis and design, develops analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitors performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other data consumers to optimize reports by defining business requirements and determining the optimal solution to meet the requirements.
