Job Title: Data Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to maintain and develop data pipelines and reports that support our Landing Gear Operations. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create and modify datasets, build new data pipelines, and develop powerful visualizations to automate business processes and drive informed decision-making.

ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for dataset creation and modification across Landing Gear Operations.Collaborate with Collins Digital Technology teams to build new data pipelines and analyze business data for downstream consumption.Create powerful visualizations using approved digital tools to automate business processes and provide insights.Gather requirements and develop digital solutions by connecting with teams across Landing Gear, including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and SIOP.Develop analytical models to connect different datasets and produce more powerful outputs.Manage projects by following the Landing Gear Operations Digital project management framework from intake through financial verification.Exercise UX/UI best practices for consistent and effective design of solutions.Participate in continuous process improvement and lean initiatives.Essential Skills3+ years of experience working with data mining and analysis tools such as Alteryx, Databricks, PowerBI, or Python libraries (e.g., Pandas).Experience in data manipulation, joins, unions, and data cleansing.Proficiency in data visualization using PowerBI or similar tools.Experience in building dashboards using Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau, or similar platforms.Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and data retrieval using APIs.Good communication skills and the ability to produce presentations and reports.Self-starter with the ability to take on projects and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or extensive experience in manufacturing and/or handling data generated by manufacturing plants.Skilled in the application life cycle process, including requirements gathering, wireframing, mock-up, development, testing, training, and deployment.Experience interacting with SQL databases.Experience with SAP ECC or equivalent ERP systems.Results-oriented with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.Understanding of how international trade regulations apply to data flowing across borders.Work Environment

The role requires 37.5 hours per week, with 7.5 hours per day and 4 days on site. You will work with teams in the US and Poland in the EST time zone. Up to 10% travel time may be required. The team consists of three people, including the manager, with one member going on maternity leave. The dress code is business casual, and the office environment is within a manufacturing facility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
