Position Summary: The Data Engineer will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline solutions, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The candidate is a data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects and data analysts on data initiatives & projects. Provide support to our production system and processes and keeping production system running healthy. Primary Responsibilities: + Create and maintain data pipeline from different sources to our cloud setup. + Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. + Build data pipeline required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources relational, non-relational, flat files, REST API, etc … + Work with stakeholders including business users, product owners, data analytics, reporting and design teams to support their data needs. + Provide support to data pipelines and production system during the day and after hours as needed. + Participate in on-call rotation and resolve production tickets assigned to the data team. + Respond to Production system and processes alerts and notification. + Review database, jobs and processes logs to ensure the database system is running healthy and efficiently. + Provide support to other systems and applications affecting the data team processes and jobs. Education, Experience & Skills: Minimum education required/preferred, area of study: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field Minimum years of relevant experience required: 1 -3 years of experience in Data Engineer role. Additional skills/knowledge required include: Familiarity with relational SQL and NoSQL database. Familiarity with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, etc Familiarity with data structure like XML and JSON. Building and optimizing data pipelines and data sets using Visual Studio and SSIS packages, Alteryx or Azure Data Factory is a plus Team player with good & effective communication using the Data team tools and technique using digital board, ticketing system, scrum meetings and effective group email communication.
