What you’ll deliver with us
As our Data Engineer you will work on our enterprise advanced data analytics technology platforms, GCP, Tableau, Neo4j and Looker, ensuring they are maintained to deliver efficient and effective services for our enterprise data community, all aligned towards delivering Australia Post's strategic goals of Supporting our People, Delighting our Communities & Customers, and Creating a Sustainable Future.
As a data engineer, this role will identify and implement best-practice application engineering lifecycle and agile approach, with a focus on leveraging cloud services and development tools, increasing the quality and reliability of output, along with the speed of delivery, and reducing friction of our development, delivery, and maintenance operations.
Maintaining our most critical data analytics infrastructure, this role will help to deliver cost effective, impactful data technology services that help to unlock data solutions for our enterprise. Delivering leading edge capability for machine learning, graph optimisation, cloud data engineering, business analytics and visualisation.
You’ll also
Collaborate with Data Engineers, and technology project teams, to deliver data visibility and automation across the enhances Product, Customer, Network, Retail, and corporate service teams.Ensure our data platforms roadmap is aligned with our Enterprise Data Strategy, and Data Services strategy.Be accountable to follow principle of delivery, following by governance and practical manner.Work to confirm data platform users understand how best to leverage the tools, providing them with training, documentation, workshops, and efficient service support.About you
At Australia Post we have a very ambitious cloud data and digital transformation agenda so we are seeking someone who is up to date with the recent market trends. Internally you will partner with Data Engineering, Data Solutions, Product Engineering, Security, Network, Architecture, and other technical teams. Communications skills are important as you will be involved with data, architecture, and digital technology think-tanks, strategy development and education forums. Externally you will get the opportunity to engage with merchant customers to lead technology initiatives.
You’ll also need
Experience using advanced Data Engineering technologies on GCP/Looker/Neo4jProven ability with software engineering dev-ops practices supporting enterprise production standards.Experience participating in data governance, data architecture and data strategy for very large complex enterprises.Background using Google Cloud Platform to provision Data platforms using Infrastructure as CodeKnowledge of object-oriented language paradigms and software engineering skills is usefulUnderstanding of SQL (BigQuery), database optimisation, scripting and ETL approaches.Great understanding of data orchestration and workflow pipeline engineering technologiesWe’re delivering together
