We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer Manager to be responsible for overseeing the architecture and management of data systems.  Ensuring data accuracy and quality, identifying inconsistencies, and resolving data issues. You will participate in the design and implementation of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and event data processing preparing data for use by various internal stakeholders. Additionally, you make data accessible through reporting platforms and consult internal customers on data utilization. You also analyze data to derive business-relevant insights and communicate these findings to stakeholders, aiding in data-driven decision-making.

 

In this position, you are expected to be proactive in identifying areas for improvement in data systems and processes. Your expertise is crucial in guiding our data strategy and ensuring that data infrastructure supports business objectives effectively.

Responsibilities Manage a staff of direct reports, responsible for coaching, counseling and assisting with development of individual career development and training plansArchitect best in class Enterprise Data Analytics foundation (warehouse, lake, datamarts) in the Azure Cloud (Azure Data Fabric) for consumption by multiple data presentation applicationsEnsure scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of the data storage systems during implementation and post-implementation phasesParticipate in the design of the Logical Roadmap for Data MigrationParticipate in developing comprehensive plans and roadmaps for migrating multiple data sources to cloud platforms, specifically Azure Data FabricParticipate in the overall project planning defining milestones, timelines, and deliverables aligned with business objectives Collaborate with developers, analysts, and businesses SMEs to understand and translate goals and objectives into data & analytics architectures and modelsProvide technical expertise for product teams that are building foundational solutions using the Azure Cloud platformEnsure adherence to all data governance policies, procedures and standards throughout the process and the ultimate solutionEvaluate new tools, frameworks, and solutions that could enhance data architecture and migration strategiesStay updated with the latest advancements and emerging technologies in cloud computing and data engineeringManage and contract with vendors necessary to accomplish the aforementioned activities; includes vendor selection and vendor relationship managementEnsure all established Sarbanes Oxley ITGC controls are enforced

Qualifications Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology or related field6-10 years of experience delivering data architecture and solution architecture for data management, data engineering and data operationsStrong, hands-on experience with the backend components of Azure Data Fabric including Synapse Data Warehouse, Azure Synapse Analytics, One Lake (Data Lake), Data Factory, and Data BricksIn-depth understanding of data engineering principles, data architecture, and data management practicesExpertise in Data Warehousing/Dimensional ModellingExpertise in SQL ServerProficiency in designing and implementing scalable data solutionsWorking knowledge of Power BI and Power AppsFundamental knowledge of ETL ProcessingKnowledge off Azure DevOpsDemonstrates a problem-solving approach to challengesAbility to work independently and pay close attention to detail Possess excellent written and oral communication skills accompanied by well-developed organizational and time management skillsPossess solid decision making along with strong negotiation skills
