Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science team supporting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our critical data science initiatives, ensuring secure and efficient data processing while adhering to strict federal compliance standards. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data science workflows and analytical processes Develop and optimize ETL processes for handling large volumes of sensitive data Collaborate with data scientists to implement machine learning models in production environments Ensure data security and compliance with federal regulations, including FedRAMP and IRS security standards Create and maintain documentation for data infrastructure and processes Implement data quality controls and monitoring systems Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Ability to receive Public Trust Clearance Bachelor's in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work on a fully remote team and maintain delivery tempo Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and shell scripting Experience with data and analytics platforms like Databricks Proven track record of building and maintaining production ETL pipelines Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines Understanding of data security principles and compliance requirements Experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau Technical Skills Languages: Python, SQL, Scala Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL Cloud Platforms: AWS GovCloud, Google Cloud Platform Data Analytics Platform: Databricks Data Quality Tools: Great Expectations, dbt Analytics: Google Analytics 4, Big Query Data Visualization: Tableau, Google Data Studio / Looker Studio About Highlight For over ten years, Highlight has provided Development and Modernization, Secure IT, and Mission Solution services to our federal government customers.
