Main Purpose of Job

The role will report to Digital & Technology Direct, Asia Pacific, and will be primarily dedicated to overseeing seamless data migration processes to cloud platforms. This involves leading the design of migration strategies, collaborating with partners, and building efficient data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Data Lake technologies. The focus extends to developing data flows and models for large datasets, engaging closely with business stakeholders to understand transformation requirements, and cultivating strong relationships within the technology realm. Key responsibilities include upholding global data engineering standards, ensuring compliance with data governance protocols, and collaborating with global analytics teams. Additionally, mentoring aspiring data and analytics professionals in the APAC region showcases a commitment to nurturing talent and knowledge sharing within the organization.

Main Responsibilities Leading the thinking on designing data migration work from source to cloud platform Working with partners to deliver the data migration work Designing and delivering data pipelines Designing and building Azure Data Factory data flows Ingesting data into an Azure Data Lake Designing data models for large datasets, including creating dimensional multivariate models as outputs for ingested data Working with the business to understand business requirements to feed into the data transformation programme Building strong stakeholder relationships within the technology organisation and the business Implementing global data engineering best practice Supporting technical data governance being built into the data migration programme Working with global and local data and analytics teams as part of the wider data and analytics community Mentoring responsibilities of people interested in skilling up in data and analytics in the APAC region as appropriate Requirements

Essential

5 years of experience in SQL Some experience with Python, R or other similar language Data Bricks/Data Lakes Experience with platform engineering or an interest to skill up in this area Experience using data within an analytics environment from core enterprise solutions including Oracle Symphony, SAP S4, SAP SuccessFactors Experience in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Good experience with ETL SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL (On-prem/Cloud)

Desirable

Knowledge of statistics principles necessary to interpret data and apply models Exposure to high performing, low latency or large volume data systems (i.e. 4 billion+ records, terabyte size database) Work within a continuous integration environment with automated builds, deployment and unit testing Experience with NoSQL type environments, Data Lakes, Lake-Houses (Cassandra, MongoDB or Neptune) Multi International Geo experience
