About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation: 

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrow’s power grid! 

We are looking for a Data Excellence Manager. This position will be based at Wendell, NC.

The Head of Data Excellence is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving data-driven decision-making, ensuring data quality and governance, and enabling a culture of data literacy across the organization. This role will establish and oversee best practices in data management, analytics, and AI-readiness to support the company’s transformation into a digital solutions provider. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the Head of Data Excellence will optimize data assets to drive operational efficiency, enhance customer engagement, and create new business opportunities.

You’ll make an impact by:

Data Strategy & Governance:

Develop and execute a comprehensive data excellence strategy aligned with business transformation objectives. Establish robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Drive the adoption of AI-ready metadata enrichment and digital-first data architectures.

Data Management & Quality:

Lead efforts to improve data quality, standardization, and accessibility across the enterprise. Oversee data stewardship functions to maintain high-quality datasets for analytics and reporting. Implement scalable data platforms, tools, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Analytics & Insights:

Enable advanced analytics, AI-driven decision-making, and real-time data insights for business functions. Partner with digital teams to integrate data analytics into product and customer engagement strategies. Provide leadership in the use of Generative AI, RAG, and CoPilot solutions to augment decision-making processes.

Data Literacy & Culture:

Drive a data-centric culture by developing training programs and fostering data literacy across all levels of the organization. Champion the ethical use of data and AI, ensuring transparency and accountability in data-driven initiatives. Work closely with HR and workforce transformation teams to upskill employees in data analytics and digital tools.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in data strategy, analytics, or data governance, with leadership experience in a complex organization. Proven track record of driving enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives. Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, data modeling, and data architecture. Experience implementing data governance frameworks and leading cross-functional data teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with digital customer engagement strategies and data-driven product innovation is a plus

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
