Data/Instrument Specialist Position Summary

The Data/Instrument Specialists provides coordination and oversight of instrument readiness in the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department to facilitate efficient case flow. This position oversees and/or assists in building instrument sets/peel packs and updates count sheets along with process improvement utilization initiatives. The Data/Instrument Specialist monitors and measures missing instrument trends and provides feedback and corrective action to Leadership. Works in parrel with Implant Specialist to develop the best workflow with the ability to reconcile implant usage. Provides Subject matter expert (SME) support in accordance with the hospital. TJC, AORN, AAMI, AST and other appropriate policies and procedures. This includes providing oversight to projects and assists in new hire orientation and training along with corrective action training. This position always promotes positive customer service/satisfaction through resolution of Operating Room and Central Processing Services issues within Surgical Services.

Data/Instrument Specialist Requirements

Education

Associates degree is required, experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. CRCST certification required within one year and CHL certification within two years of hire.  Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification/ problem solving is preferred.

Experience

Experience working within the Operating Room, Central Processing or Perioperative services is required Experience working with Microsoft office products is required.

Data/Instrument Specialist Work Schedule

Hourly, 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM or 10 Am to 2 PM. Works weekends as scheduled. Expected to work overtime occasionally.

Data/Instrument Specialist Benefits

At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits. Salary range: $23.25 - $36.04  Commensurate with experience
