Summary

DATA INTEGRITY/CODER SUP SPEC. REMOTE OPPORTUNITY SHIFT - 8:00AM-4:30PM   Acceptable remote locations: District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia Certifications:  Must hold at least one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC   Job Summary - Under general supervision acts as a Coding support specialist for the Lifebridge Health (LBH) coding team. Assists the Coding Manager with daily activities such as coordinating and maintaining daily workflow of assigned staff, monitoring the work queues, DNFB management, and system testing. Codes and abstracts medical records based on coding guidelines and coding conventions as needed.   Essential Functions: Coding - Reviews medical records to determine the appropriate diagnosis/procedures and assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes and modifiers using standard guidelines and LBH protocol. Monitors DNFB Waiting for Coding Reports and Coding Queues - Ensures that established coding turnaround times are met. Review/ Follow-up on Queries - Uses various reports and queues to identify queries to be resolved. Information Integrity - Review and correct several types of data fields that impact the accuracy of data for quality and reimbursement and HSCRC reporting purposes. Other Daily Activities - Provides coding backup for various outpatient coding duties. Assists Coding Manager - Assist the Outpatient Coding Manager with various duties as requested. Communication - Assures that co-workers and management are well-informed and adequately prepared by communicating information relevant to the coding area or department.

Qualifications/Requirements - Education/Knowledge: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate’s degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Education Discipline: Experience: 3-5 years.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:  Must hold at least one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC
