Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a motivated Data Management Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. The Data Management Analyst supports Army Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) through technical engineering and as a training facilitator for Army training audience end user teams. Each supported customer communicates, documents, plans, and executes the means to fulfill data requirements and maximize data utility. Whether generating the scenario for the next WFX, planning data mining tasks in support of Observer-Controller/Trainers (OC/Ts), or supporting training audience, the Data Management Analyst provides the product so operators can configure their data systems to receive data from the simulation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with end users of the data to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completenessLeads or participates in facilitation sessions to gather requirements and builds logical models and compositions for data entry, archive, and retrievalCollaborates with Technical Support Team engineers to refine and verify the overall data architectureReviews and reports project metrics to the customer to benchmark the effectiveness of the specific data management process being followedPartners closely with Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) database administrators, developers, and local technical services engineers to ensure that modeling is accurately supported in simulation systemsParticipates in planning teams and post-WFX technical After-Action Reviews to develop best practices, ensure data standards are upheld, and resolve naming, modeling composition, and other issuesWorks across multiple data projects simultaneously to ensure consistency of support to MCTP and the contractPromotes the sharing and reuse of valid data across exercisesDesigns, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for metrics and analyticsWorks closely with customers through planning conferences, progress reviews, and one-on-one meetings to identify exercise scenario requirementsMaps out the conceptual design for the exercise scenario and data entry and refines the logical design to ensure translation into a specific data modelCommunicates with Technical and Operations staff regularly to ensure data integrity and securityMeets regularly with military, civilian, and contractor customers to ensure updated data requirements are met for each event and that digital data collection is integrated into the MCTP After-Action Review (AAR) structureCollects data from multiple sources before and during MCTP exercisesBuilds digital structures that facilitate sharing of desired information in a collaborative environmentProvides sustainment training to customers on current Mission Command systemsProvides assistance and instruction to MCTP Operations Group (OG) military Observer- Controller/Trainers (OC/Ts) and contractor analysts so they can quickly access archived dataIdentifies means to improve the collection and dissemination of informationStudies Army organizationsMaintains current knowledge of Joint and Army doctrine as it relates to Mission CommandSets up and maintains proper resources to display a Common Operational Picture (COP) for customersAssists customers with data retrieval, and coordinates testing to verify the accuracy of dataAnalyzes customer problems and investigates data available for analysis.Meet all administrative due outs assigned by manager and contractual requirementsBasic Qualifications:
One of the following:High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of professional and/or military leadership experienceBachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of professional and/or military leadership experienceMaster’s degree with a minimum of 0 year of professional and/or military leadership experienceMS Office Suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, One Note) operational proficiencyMust have or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, and must be able to obtain an interim DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting workMust be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in KansasMust be able to travel as needed (up to 50% of the time)Preferred Qualifications:
Current DoD Secret security clearanceBachelor’s or Graduate Degree with 5 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of and firsthand experience with Army organizations and or Army constructive models and simulations with Brigade or higher staff experienceFamiliarization with Army War-Fighting Functions (WfFs)Knowledge of Army Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTOEs)Utilization of U.S. Army G3/5/7 FMSWeb site to compare and analyze transitions of Army MTOEsFamiliar with researching military equipment capabilitiesAnalytical acumenHand on experience with Parametric Data Set Management (PDSM) to create and manage the data to ensure that WAR Simulation (WARSIM) correctly models the expected behaviorsWARSIM Battle Simulation Work Station (BSWS) experience or certification through training organizationSalary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
