Data Management and Communication Intern

The staff of the Office of Research Grants (ORG) acts for the American Chemical Society in the administration of all research grants programs of the Society. The mission of the Office of Research Grants is to administer these programs so that they conform to the guidance provided in the founding documents, and at the same time have significant impact consistent with the vision for the programs provided by the ACS Board of Directors. The office administers The ACS Petroleum Research Fund (PRF), the Herman Frasch Foundation Grants in Agricultural Chemistry, and the Arthur Cope and Irving S. Sigal Postdoctoral Fellowships. Primary responsibility is for the ACS PRF, a program of research
grants to nonprofit institutions, primarily colleges and universities.

 

Position Summary

The intern will work with ORG staff to update and maintain the PRF grants database and shared drives. Working with ORG staff, the intern will determine optimal ways to display data for Interntaional
collaborators and create online forms to be displayed on ORG web pages. The intern will also review recent publications and prepare data sets for presentations and web pages.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Data visualization for international proposals, grants, and reviewers

• Summarize 2024 publications and reviewing data at a detailed level for additional insight

• Create online forms • Update organizational records in Salesforce

• Maintain and organize the shared drive

• Create budget revisions in award records in Salesforce

 

Education Requirements:

The Ideal candidate will be a rising college junior, senior, recent graduate or pursuing a Masters/ PhD in Information Technology 

 

Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a major in Information Technology or related field.

Pay Transparency: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The following are the intended hourly rates for this part time/nonexempt role: Rising Junior-$23.00; Rising Senior-$24.00; Current Grad/PhD Student- $27.00.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.

 

*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, two days per week. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other three days of the week from a location of their choice.
