Function

The Enterprise Data Management Function is responsible for effective and consistent Data Management of the bank’s data which is deemed critical: Used in external reporting, used to continuously provide information to the bank’s board, and data whose deficiency can cause financial loss/severe Impact to the customer. 

Summary

The new hire will work as a member of the DMO (Data Management Office), to perform activities required to provide effective control of the data which is deemed critical to the bank.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Work on the following tasks:Data Lineage

Work with the upstream data providers - explain data mapping requirements and gather technical documentation needed to document data lineage

Decipher technical documentation, Data Flow diagrams, SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, and SSIS packages in order to document Data Lineage manually

Work with business users to get process details and create Level 2 Process Flow diagrams

Data Quality Profiling

Lead data quality workshops to recommend and capture business rules for the identified CDEs

Data Quality Monitoring

Run DQ checks using DMO application built in-house and share results with business

Work with DMO IT to create new Data Quality Rules by providing technical details / SQL Queries etc. that would help create logic for capturing data quality issues

Data Quality Issue Remediation (once data quality issues are discovered)Perform root cause analysis; determine where the issue is and then raise tickets as needed; modify DQ rules logic if requiredFollow up with business / IT as needed to get the issues fixed

Qualifications

Strong communication skills: Both written and oral with technical and non-technical staffBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics mathematics, physics or computer science7+ years of relevant work experience:Prior working experience in RiskPrior working experience in Financial Industry / Data Governance / Data Management OfficePrior exposure to projects related with delivering Level 2 process flows, Data Quality Rules, and Manual/Automated Source to Target data mappingIntermediate to Advanced SQL skillsIntermediate to Advanced Excel skillsIntermediate to Advanced Visio skillsIntermediate PowerPoint (PPT) skillsExperience with a Data Governance Tool will be a plus
