Position Specific Description

The Data Operations Lead will play a key role in eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business needs of enterprise data stakeholders, collaborating with data project sponsors to determine data project scope and vision.  The Data Operations Lead will execute requirements analyses for data projects to establish project planning, impact, outcome criteria, and evaluation metrics.  As a key member of the team on data projects, the Lead will facilitate data workshops and track detailed functional, technical, and reporting data requirements.  The Data Operations Lead will also gather, specify, and document current (as-is) and future (to-be) business requirements, data architectures, data-based workflows, and use cases.  

As a program manager, the Data Operations Lead will develop detailed project roadmaps, schedule and plan milestones, and provide updates using standard company tools.  Data Operations Leads also plan and prepare validation and verification testing using functional, regression, and load testing approaches.  Throughout their work, the Data Operations Lead will provide project updates regularly to various stakeholders on progress of projects, risks and mitigation, and fiscal status.  Finally, for this role it is critical to serve as a change advocate to drive data simplification, standardization, and best practices.  This role requires strong stakeholder management experience, robust analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

 

Lead cross-functional teams on data projects and manage complex data transformation initiatives Apply strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data architecture to develop strategies and program plans Solve real business problems, especially related to data Develop and present business cases and data strategies to senior leadership Industry knowledge of modern, best practice, and innovative data engineering and architecture strategies Lead the design and development of data driven products and services Design and build high performance collaborative business and technology teams that deliver high value data solutions, data products and data analytics Identify the implications for data governance that arise from the technology, current processes, and skill levels in a complex data environment Ability to design and build complex data pipelines that either stream data in Experience designing and building data platforms that support data lakes, data stores, data ingestion and transformations and API services for consuming data

 

Preferred Experience:

5-8 years of experience as a data engineer, data architect, or data project/program manager with demonstrable team management responsibilities Experience in object-oriented programming and data analysis programs Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines Ability to use SQL, Power BI, data visualization tools and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions Tendency to pay close attention to small details combined with an ability to integrate and simplify complexity General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes and information flow Self-motivation, drive, curiosity, and entrepreneurial mindset
