Data Privacy & Protection Program Manager

To help achieve this mission, you’ll be part of a team responsible for a wide range of cross-functional privacy and data protection projects. You’ll be working in close collaboration with teams throughout the organization and will help us to build and support scalable tools and processes to keep our data safe.

 

Core Responsibilities

Be a cross-functional champion for privacy and data protection.Support the design, creation, and rollout of key privacy program initiatives that deliver best in class privacy practices (including by ensuring compliance measures are met).Develop and enhance privacy policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Work as part of a cross-functional team to deliver best in class privacy and data protection training initiatives across the company.Prepare and deliver privacy training and awareness programs for employees across the organization.Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for new projects and initiatives.Identify and implement operational improvements to embed privacy and data protection in the way teams work at LLS.Support adoption of operational privacy processes through discussion and coordination with stakeholders across the company.Work with legal and other teams to review and track privacy and data protection compliance through project lifecycles.Assist in monitoring and responding to privacy-related inquiries and incidents, including data breaches and subject access requests (SARs).Assist in conducting periodic audits and assessments of privacy controls and processes. Support and manage various privacy related projects.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of work experience in privacy or technology law, policy, programs, or other related fields.Experience in online privacy, security or related field.Proven track record of breaking down processes and identifying key pain points in order to deliver business improvements at local, regional and global levels.Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups to set objectives and produce results.Experience managing, organizing, and coordinating projects and process-improvements in a program.CIPP certification is not required but is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough understanding of privacy laws, regulations, and standards, including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection frameworks.Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in the field of data privacy and protection.Knowledge of information security principles and practices, including encryption, access controls, and data breach response protocols.Understanding of risk management principles as they pertain to data privacy and protection.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and formulate effective solutions.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in project management methodologies, including planning, execution, and monitoring.Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into actionable policies and procedures.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong decision-making abilities with a focus on balancing business needs with legal and ethical considerations.Capacity to lead and motivate cross-functional teams towards common goals.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop long-term privacy and data protection strategies.Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding the highest standards of data privacy and protection.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in a office environmentMust be able to lift at least 20 lbs., up to 40 lbs.Ability to sit or stand - or alternate between sitting and standing - for extended periods of time.Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard.Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken and written word to accurately impart information and instructions to others.Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech in person, over the phone and through computer speakers.Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches, including use of computer screens.Average salary range is $90,000 - $110,000, open to further discussion based on geography.Some weekend and evening hours may be required.
