About the role: The Data Product Systems Analyst will bridge the gap between data engineering, data product management, and business stakeholders, ensuring that our data products are well-designed, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. You will play a key role in understanding business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and driving the successful implementation of data solutions that provide insights and value to the organization.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with data product managers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define and prioritize data product features and requirements.Design and document end-to-end data product workflows, ensuring data pipelines, data models, and reporting tools meet business objectives.Assist in the development of product roadmaps, identifying opportunities for product enhancement, automation, and optimization.Work with business teams to understand data needs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and analytics requirements.Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data systems and product features.Conduct data analysis to validate requirements, identify gaps, and provide insights into business performance.Evaluate and optimize data workflows across systems, ensuring that data flows seamlessly between different systems and platforms.Work with data engineering teams to ensure data integration from various sources is accurate, consistent, and efficient.Lead efforts to integrate new data sources into the organization’s data ecosystem.Support the full lifecycle of data product development, from ideation and requirements gathering to implementation and ongoing optimization.Ensure data product quality by conducting testing, validation, and performance assessments.Monitor the usage of data products and gather feedback from users to inform continuous improvements.Act as the liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring effective communication of product features, limitations, and timelines.Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product development status, risks, and key milestones.Document and communicate data product specifications, workflows, and user guides to enable clear understanding and adoption by business users.Ensure adherence to data governance and security policies throughout the development and deployment of data products.Monitor data quality and integrity across all data products, ensuring that they meet business and regulatory standards.Participate in data privacy and compliance initiatives, ensuring that data products adhere to industry regulations and company policies.Work with data engineers and data stewards to define metadata standards, including data definitions, lineage, and data quality rules.Maintain a central metadata repository or data catalog to improve data discoverability, ensure data quality, and support data governance practices.Oversee data lineage and impact analysis to track data flow, transformations, and dependencies across systems.Maintain a central data tagging catalog in supporting alignment across various business, data, and technical teams.Train users on new tools and features, ensuring efficient adoption across the teams.May require other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst role, with a focus on data products or data systems.Experience working with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data product managers, and business stakeholders.Experience with metadata management strategies, data catalogs, and metadata tools.Preferred Experience:
Strong understanding of data systems, data flows, data architecture, cloud platforms (such as Azure).Familiarity with data processing frameworks (e.g., ETL, ELT) and data storage systems (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes).Proficient in SQL and data query languages for data analysis.Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and reporting solutions.Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product lifecycle management.Ability to work with technical teams to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Work-life balance is at the foundation of how decisions are made and where Premise is headed. For individuals living in California, Colorado, Washington; as well as, for individuals living in or reporting to New York State only, Premise Health is required to include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $70,000 - $90,000.
