The Data Risk Engagement Manager is part of the internal Global Data Risk Management team at EY, responsible for ensuring all EY information is protected throughout its lifecycle whilst enabling continued innovation as part of our strategic ambitions. Data risk impacts all EY employees, ensuring we engage the entire global community on data risk topics is critical to the effectiveness of our Data Risk Management program.
The Data Risk Engagement Manager is a highly collaborative individual, with a background in Data Protection or Risk Management and a creative flair to communicate with impact across complex topics to a variety of audiences. This role connects stakeholders across the global data risk landscape to deliver coordinated and engaging interventions to support the development of the EY Data Risk Culture.
Key responsibilities
Take a leading role in the creation of written and multi-media materials to support the effective communication, training and awareness of global data risk priorities across EY. Demonstrating creative flair, passion for the subject matter and strong connections across the global team. Utilise strong subject matter expertise to bring to life data protection and data risk concepts into simple clear messages, that resonate with diverse stakeholder groups and drive behavioural change. In partnership with the EY Brand, Marketing & Communication Team, develop a strong internal brand proposition for Global Data Risk Management. Leverage large scale communication campaigns to deliver key data risk messages to a global audience. Collaborate with key stakeholders in the data risk ecosystem, including Information Security, Records & Information Management, Technology, GCO and Risk Management to produce simple and aligned messaging on data risk topics. In partnership with the EY Talent team, provide subject matter expertise for the creation of targeted training materials to increase understanding of data protection topics –from foundational data protection principles through to in-depth technical and regulatory requirements. Provide support for the implementation and operationalisation of key global data risk projects, ensuring change management, stakeholder communication and deployment plans are engaging and impactful. Participate in the creation or revision of formal written materials such as Policies, Standards and procedures to ensure maximum clarity, consistency and accuracy. Leverage deep understanding of the global data risk program and priorities to ensure these are well represented across the framework of global policies. Take an active role in designing effective stakeholder management across senior audiences within EY, ensuring consistent and engaging representation of the strategic objectives within Global Data Risk Management. Maintain a strong professional network within EY to ensure engagement needs for emerging risk topics across the data risk landscape are identified and responded to effectively.
Qualifications and experience
Experience in data risk topics, such as data privacy, data ethics, data quality, data governance, or information security. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple and clear messages that resonate with different stakeholders and drive behavioural change. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor the tone, style, and format to suit different purposes and audiences. Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across functions, geographies, and cultures. Creativity and passion for finding new and better ways to communicate and educate on data risk topics. Professional curiosity and a proven ability to learn/adapt to new topics, alongside an active interest in working within a dynamic risk landscape. What we offer The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $80,000 to $149,600. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $96,000 to $170,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
