About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Science Consultant.

This is for the Business Insights and Analytics (BIA) team within the Wells Fargo Home Lending (WFHL) group under Consumer Lending (CL) LoB. The BIA team provides reporting and analytics support to drive business insights and enable management oversight for operational, regulatory and internal functions for the WFHL group.  The group supports sales, fulfillment, underwriting, operations, quality, compliance, servicing and support functions for the Wells Fargo Home Lending Business.


In this role, you will:

Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives by utilizing data-driven, advanced analytical and statistical techniques to identify trends, diagnose problems, and build actionable insights or recommendationsReview and analyze business, operational, technical assignments, or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives to convert data into meaningful insights and recommendationsExercise independent judgment to guide medium risk business hypothesis generationPresent recommendations and insights for resolving low to moderately complex business needs and problems; exercise independent judgment while developing an expertise in analytic capabilitiesCollaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders to drive recommendations and strategies based on data-driven analytical insights, trends, and patternsConduct low to moderately complex predictive analytics to build actionable insights and recommendationsDesign and apply algorithms to mine large sets of structured and unstructured data from various sourcesEnsure data completeness, accuracy, and uniformity through cleaning and validationInterpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to isolate patterns that lead to recommendations to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies


Required Qualifications:

2+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationMaster's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science


Desired Qualifications:

2+ years of relevant experience in Analytics preferably within the banking sector.Proficient in statistical analysis, data visualization tools such as Tableau, and programming languages such as Python / SAS / R and SQL.Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.Proven experience working with large datasets and databases, extracting meaningful insights to inform business strategies.Ability to adapt to evolving trends and technologies in the digital marketing landscape.Proactive approach to problem-solving and a results-driven mindset.Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
