What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for Data Science Project Manager. This position will serve as a project manager for a data science team supporting NIH's CUP and FCIB. The team structure is based on a software development team model and will implement a modified Agile methodology. The position will be responsible for managing, creating, assigning, and monitoring tasks within Asana and Jira. The position will require coordinating with the Branch Chief and team members to develop project proposals, timelines, and deliverables. The role will require developing the branch's project intake and ticketing system within Jira and working with the Branch Chief to develop a project SOP for the branch. The role will require experience with Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) development lifecycle. This is a full-time onsite position supporting the NIH office in Bethesda, MD.
Maintain coordination and communication between research operations, program management, project stakeholders, team members and subcontractors.
Build and support effective communication strategies for the Division and public presentations of the program and its constituent activities.
Provide subject matter expertise on special cross-cutting and ad hoc projects, attend special regional, annual, and ad hoc meetings, and participate on working groups.
Creates project in designated project management software and ensure all necessary staff have access.
Assist staff coordinate project management activities, to include routine meetings and development of reports.
Prepare project documentation to include charter, schedule, resource plans and budgets.
Conduct project-related activities, including developing needed materials, power-point presentations, arranging discussions, and
facilitating interactions.
Support internal resources plan and implement activities in support of project in accordance with project priorities and schedule.
Prepare project dashboards and summaries, milestone status and updates to work breakdown structure as necessary.
Prepare progress reports, summaries, descriptions, and other materials to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop summaries of project status and performance for review with upper management.
Assist project owners manage financial aspects of project to include monitoring budget, projecting future spending, and completing appropriate financial requests and accounting documentation.
Establish project metrics to measure and evaluate project cost and performance.
Research project management best practices and new industry standards.
Provides subject matter expertise and support to other project managers.
Develops overarching program and project management standards to ensure consistency and quality.
Reviews and evaluates project management documentation.
Acts as a liaison with other agencies and organizations when necessary for project completion.

What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s Degree
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Budget experience
A minimum of FIVE (5) years of Project Management experience.
Website content management
Meeting minutes/summary reports and/or Meeting coordination experience
Previous Executive level support
Data analysis experience
Proficient in SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Asana, Jira, and/or GitHub
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Previous experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Experience in Management Information Systems and Statistics, Human Resources and Personnel Management, Business Management and Administration, Computer Administration Management and Security, Computer and Information Systems, Computer Programming and Data Processing, Computer Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Statistics and Decision Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering and Industrial Management, Computer Engineering, General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Related Technologies, Miscellaneous Engineering or Engineering Technologies, Multi-Disciplinary or General Science, Physical Sciences, Physics, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and/or related science experience.
The annual salary range for this position is $100,200.00-$150,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
