You will be responsible for leading a high-performance team in designing and building data pipelines using Python and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of software development and data engineering principles and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In this role, you will be required to establish a vision and lead a team to deliver a state-of-the-art, high-performance data solution to meet or exceed mission requirements. This position is located in our Chantilly, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. **Your future duties and responsibilities:** • Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of data scientists and data engineers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to deliver high-quality results. • Data Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the client goals, identifying key areas for data-driven improvement. • Project Management: Lead data science projects from inception to completion, including defining project scope, gathering requirements, and managing timelines and resources. • Data Analysis: Conduct advanced data analysis using various statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful insights and uncover hidden patterns. • Model Development: Support development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ML based pipelines for data inference. Demonstrable expertise in an area of data science or analytics (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, predictive modeling and forecasting, statistics). • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, product, marketing) to ensure data-driven solutions are integrated into the overall business strategy. • Data Pipeline Development: Develop and deploy data pipelines using Python and AWS services (e.g., Flask, S3, EC2, Lambda) to automate data processing tasks and workflows. • Process Automation: Automate data processing tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on the latest data engineering tools and technologies. **Required qualifications to be successful in this role:** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of experience in a data science leadership role. • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). • Manage large complex projects involving diverse datasets. • Experience with Python programming for data manipulation and analysis. • Familiarity with supervised, unsupervised, and NLP Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. • Experience with SQL and proficiency in writing complex queries. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • US Citizenship • Willingness to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with CI Poly Ways to Stand Out • Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field. • Experience with popular Python web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask). • Familiarity with web development concepts (HTTP, REST APIs). The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $111,600.00 - $271,800.00.
