Job Description:

Your way to impact:

Your strong analytical skills and proactive attitude will directly impact Venmo by managing and mitigating financial loss from fraud risk, as you work on multiple assignments simultaneously across all areas of related projects.

Your day to day:
 

Collaboration: Work independently and proficiently on multiple assignments, ensuring high quality and speed and serve as a subject matter expert, mentoring and coaching junior risk analysts or data scientists.

Risk Mitigation: Understand Risk business trends and directions to contextualize work within the broader business landscape. Manage and mitigate Venmo financial loss caused by fraud risk by working on multiple assignments in all project areas.

Data Analysis: Utilize knowledge of internal and external business processes, data systems, flows, analytic tools, processes, and methodologies to achieve results with minimal supervision.

Data Management: Build robust risk anomaly detection systems and critical risk signals to identify fraud patterns at an early stage, seek improvements within defined tasks, evaluate, and execute improvement ideas from supervisor and partner with key stakeholders to design new risk platforms, ensuring better quality of risk strategies.

What do you need to bring:

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in analytical tools and languages such as SQL, Python, Hive, BigQuery, Machine learning and data visualization tools (e.g., Tabeau, Power BI).

Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work efficiently

Education: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related quantitative discipline plus two (2) years of experience in or two (2) years of experience in the field of data analysis or statistical analysis

OR bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics or closely related quantitative discipline plus three (3) years of experience in the or three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of data analysis or statistical analysis
