Colgate-Palmolive is reimagining traditional business processes and improving them by harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence. In Global analytics and insights, we work to deliver AI connected solutions to relevant business questions for the global Colgate-Palmolive community. Data Scientists help build, orchestrate, and translate predictive GenAI models for the global team. If you are looking for a high impact position that directly affects the way Colgate sells products, this Data Scientist role is for you. This position is hybrid and can be based in New York or Piscataway, NJ.
**Main Responsibilites:**
+ Data Analysis & Modeling
+ Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to discover insights
+ Orchestrate LLMs for commercial and innovation use cases
+ Develop sophisticated feature engineering
+ Build ML Ops and/or LLM Ops pipelines
+ AI Strategy
+ Help drive the culture of data driven decision making throughout the company
+ Stay up to date with the latest trends in the AI community to suggest new methods for developing and existing projects
+ Customer Engagement
+ Partner with business teams to understand their needs, struggles, and general processes
+ Communicate technical findings to diverse sets of audience
+ Team Collaboration
+ Collaborate with other data scientists, data engineers on project
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ At least 3 years of data analytics / programming experience
+ Proficiency with GitHub and CI/CD
+ Expertise in at least one analytical language: Python, Julia, R
+ Experience with common data science packages, such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn
+ Expertise in data querying languages such as SQL
+ Proficiency with statistical concepts such as descriptive analysis, experimental design, Bayesian statistics and regression
+ Proficiency with machine learning techniques such as clustering, tree-based methods, temporal difference and neural networks
+ Visualizing and communicating data for customers using: plotly, seaborn, ggplot, etc
+ Ability to work with cloud data architectures
+ Experience with tuning of Large Language Models, RAG chatbots, document retrieval, agentic workflows
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Consumer Goods Industry Experience
+ Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Physical Sciences with 3-5 years of work experience
+ PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Physical Sciences with 0-2 years of work experience.
**Compensation and Benefits**
Salary Range $81,000.00 - $114,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
