LOCATION: The successful candidate will be expected to work at One Energy Plaza in Jackson, Michigan every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with home office flexibility on Wednesday and Friday.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Data Scientist will support the data output process. The incumbent will work with the business to establish requirements and data requests for analytical strategic projects. Obtain an understanding of the business needs of organizations and the ability to generate actionable insights using various methods.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned or may be necessary Prioritize business initiatives and structure projects for optimum success taking into consideration budget, head count, and regulatory requirements Communicate data science outputs and support the creation of models and solutions that provide insights for the business to interpret and execute successfully Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling resources/processes to achieve project/program objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints Conduct an analytics initiative from ideation through production and adoption and have an understanding of the life cycle of an analytics initiative and the common pitfalls KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong acumen in quantitative analytics and structured problem solving Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Knowledge and understanding of data modeling, machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, data visualization, and data engineering Project management knowledge, ability to identify the project/business requirements Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate data and results concisely Process management skills Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, data analytics, or related field with two (2) or more years of applicable experience [OR] Associate’s degree in information technology, data analytics, or related field with four (4) or more years of applicable experience [OR] High School Diploma with six (6) or more years of applicable experienceIn depth experience in data analyst, data modeling and understanding business needs.
