Economics & Location Program
Economics & Location products leverage Mastercard data to deliver timely insights and forecasts on macro- and microeconomic trends around sales performance across sectors, geographies, and channels. These insights are the macro- and microeconomic indicators of industry performance based on actual, near real-time spend data.
About the role
The Mastercard Economics & Location products report timely insights and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders. The analytics modelling and prototyping team oversees all new prototyping and development of new reports, vertical and geographies as well as new production efforts. The group analyzes & synthesizes data sets both from within Mastercard and beyond to bring powerful insights to clients.
This candidate will be part of a cross-functional team of data scientists, data engineers, econometricians, and platform designers and will help us scale our offerings and create prototypes for new ideas/offerings. You will also help locate and ingest relevant 3rd party data, develop new models and detailed forecasts, design outlier detection algorithms and work on many other complex and challenging problems.
Qualifications:
•\tUndergraduate or master’s degree and at least 2-4 years of work experience after completing your degree(s)
•\tSolid ability to write SQL
•\tExperience with big data
•\tVery comfortable programming in Python or R
•\tExperience with time series data and models
•\tA solid foundation in managing large datasets
•\tExperience working with credit card data a big plus
•\tPassion: Actively seeks responsibility and takes pride in delivering the highest quality results and recommendations to our clients.
•\tAbility to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English and the local office language(s)
•\tAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•\tCandidates must be eligible to work in the country of which they are applying for a position in, as well as eligible to apply for travel visas as required by travel needs
