What You Will Do:
Data Scientist role will be part of a data analytics team supporting a large Intelligence Community Agency with data process improvement for exploitation and production activities. The team's objective is to help their office solve data challenges which can include a variety of data solutions depending on the task/project such as: visualization, analysis, automation or tool creation, applying Machine Learning techniques/processes, developing data pipelines via Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes. Given the diverse needs and skills required, the team works together to apply the right skills to each problem and further modernize the office's capacity to use data. Ideal candidate will be able to extract and analyze large and complex data, and to able to work with data analyst/visualization specialist teammates to select and apply the appropriate analytical techniques. Will work closely with clients towards goal of increasing organizational and production efficiency and provide knowledge of data science/engineering practices. Visualization and deployment of analyses and/or tools involves COTS software such as Tableau and ArcGIS, as well as web-based applications which can predict, explain, or analyze data. The candidate will coordinate with non-technical users to identify data analytics needs and use facilitation skills to elicit requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
Develop methods for querying, visualizing, aggregating, correlating, and analyzing big data
Develop and implement strategies for optimizing data processes and databases, including the exposure of new datasets, migration of legacy datasets, visualization of data, or faster querying of data
Build custom tools/solutions to automate analytic endeavors
Develop best practice tradecraft techniques that are repeatable and can be explained to users
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a COUNTERINTELLIGENCE (CI) polygraph
THREE (3) or more years' of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intel Community (IC), or federal customers
Experience with programming, especially Python, and manipulating large data sets
Experience with ONE (1) or more of the following tools to maintain and manipulate data: SQL databases, ArcServer, NoSQL DBMS, Tableau, Insights, Oracle
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Bachelor's degree
Experience with ONE (1) or more of the following tools to visualize data: ArcGIS, SPSS, SAS, MatLab, R
Understanding of concepts associated with structured data and relationship databases
Familiarity with IC, CENTCOM, and PACOM missions
Experience using mathematical concepts and techniques to solve complex GEOINT analysis problem sets
Military experience
Professional certifications or advanced degrees
