Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Data Scientist II. This position will support a team located in Columbus, OH, and will be open to some hybrid work.
Battelle's Health Analytics supports government, academic and private industry clients in the areas of healthcare, national defense, environmental, transportation, and energy.
In this role you will fulfill data analysis needs for complex and unusual problems, as well as leadership of other junior staff on small tasks. They will work autonomously but with guidance from other senior technical staff. In this role you will be focused on (i) developing solutions to complex technical problems, (ii) implementing state-of-the-art data analysis algorithms, evaluating them, and improving on them as needed, (iii) developing reports or presentations to report findings to project leaders and clients, and (iv) providing technical expertise to support business development activities.
Key Qualifications Bachelor's (and 2 yrs experience required) OR PhD OR Master's degree and 0 years of experience (2+ years experience preferred) with degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics (with a data analysis focus) Machine Learning experience is required.Experience with code optimization and debugging for implementing state of the art machine learning/deep learning algorithmsApplicants for this position must be a U.S. Person, as defined by U.S. export control laws.Expertise in manipulating and analyzing large data (e.g. exploratory analysis, model fitting, and visualization)Experience creating, interfacing with, or optimizing databases (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL)Strong course work or experience demonstrating algorithmic programming and data visualization skillsProgramming experience in Python, R, and/or MATLABExcellent oral and written communication skillsAttention to detail and adaptabilityStrong analytical, multi-tasking, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills

$82,000/yr - $115,000/yr Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data
