Data Scientist
Insight Global
Job Description
One of Insight Global's clients in the Oil and Gas industry is looking to hire a Data Scientist within their Optimization group. This team is dedicated to optimizing systems and software for field operations. Currently, they are working on a new and exciting project, creating a model to convert signals from a device on a drill bit into geomechanical properties in order to predict and control mechanical fractures or deformations underground. These signals that are captured by the high-frequency accelerometers show how efficiently the rig is drilling and the health of the BHA components. This model should organize the downhole data with time and depth to easily identify trends and effects that surface parameters, rig practices, and geology have on the overall health of the system. Over the next year, this person will be responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and enhancing this model with the end goal being that their internal field engineers will be able to run this model in real-time out on the rigs. This position is an open ended contract, with new projects every year. This person must be willing to work onsite in Downtown Houston 5 days / week.
Based on knowledge and years of experience, this position offers an hourly pay rate range of $55-73/hr.
